Plateau Coalition of Business and Professional Associations (PLACOBPA) came into being in 2009 following dedicated facilitation, trainings capacity building undertaken subsequently in 2010 by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) of Washington D. C. USA, and Jos Business School. Meetings were held thereafter with officials of Plateau Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (PLACCIMA) and the concept of the coalition was worked out and adopted and inaugurated in 2010.
Vision
To contribute meaningfully to the economic sustainability of the State through advocacy for policy reforms.
Mission
To promote a conducive business environment for prosperity and economic development through advocacy, policy reforms, networking and stakeholders’ engagement leveraging on the abundant natural, material and human resource endowments on the Plateau in synergy with other states of the federation.
Social Objectives of the Coalition
- To enhance democracy and good governance amongst its members.
- To be a dependable partner of the Plateau State Government in all social, and economic matters.
- To be an important source of information on the private sector in Plateau State.
- To advice, encourage, and to guide emergent enterprise in Plateau State.
- To carry out research and to provide Business and Economic Policy Documents for submission to and discussion with, the Government of Plateau State.
How You Can Get Involved And Participate Actively
- Interested business and professional associations that desire to be part of the coalition should pick up the membership form at PLACOBPA Secretariat and pay the relevant fees.
- Intending member associations should note that, once admitted, they shall participate in the strategic planning and implementation of key advocacy activities to be handled by the coalition in Plateau State.
- Each member association of the coalition shall be actively engaged in the development and implementation of the coalition’s work plan.
